Happy Chinese New Year to all!!!

The atmosphere of Chinese New Year is getting lesser and lesser nowadays. Even the amount of people for the reunion dinner are getting lesser too.

It was a must for every Chinese New Year reunion to have steamboat.

It used to go at least two and the half round in order for everyone in the fa
mily to have as the table could not occupy so many of us.

This year, just a round table is sufficient as there are only TEN of us.

Aunty’s family was not back,
3rd uncle and family is in US,

youngest uncle and family is in Thailand,
elder sister not around,
2nd uncle pass away a couple of years ago.

so now you could imagine how quiet it is.

look at the good side, i get to eat more!

The first thing that i would grab!!!

MORE ABalOne!!!

年年有余

Fish Maw

This year was a little different from last year, grandma decided not to use the electrical pot for steamboat instead going back to the olden days using charcoal.

Charcoal are insert into the hole in the middle.

After dinner, the young one’s would help my grandma with the ang pow packaging.inserting money into the red packet. Each year, they wuold also say they wanna put in more into the red packet hoping that it would be theirs than!
Than, headed off to the temple for prayers. We pray until the clock struck 12. and queue up to get ang pow from the monk!

The monk is always the first one to give me ang pow.

Grandpa was too busy to pack angpow for us, the grandchildren.
Nono, it s not that he did not give us.
But instead of giving us angpow, he gave us cash and the red packet separately and was asked to pack it in by ourselves!!!

Have you experience this?

Than it was all the visiting visiting visiting.

We have Nasi Lemak, indian rice for dinner on during the celebration of Chinese New Year, which i believe that it does not happen to others.

Dont worry! WE lou Yee Sang too!

This is what Chinese New Year is in a multiracial country!
